With the start of the New Year and my kids’ food fight tactics at a record high, I decided it was time to give my meal planning and prep a little reboot. Even someone with a food and nutrition degree (raise hand!) can benefit from fresh inspiration, new ideas and a little help to overcome, let’s shall we say, persnickety eating habits.
As luck would have it, the social media food Gods stepped in and I came across information for EatPakd, a wholesome, ready-to-eat weekly meal delivery service with recent availability in Chicago.
Upon reading about the ingredients used and the healthy offerings available, EatPakd instantly earned my registered dietitian nutritionist blessing. After enjoying these wholesome meals for ourselves, I also give it the mom seal of approval and, most importantly, EatPakd earned the green light from Teddy and Sloane.
Here are my five reasons to add EatPakd to your family’s fridge:
(pssst…keep reading to learn how to try a week of meals for FREE!):
They can help you encourage kids’ healthy eating habits. Did you know that giving a food a fun name and making it look colorful can entice your little one to chow down on healthy fare? EatPakd meals don whimsical names like SunButty Loves Me and Pizzadilla, and each includes a rainbow of food colors and different shapes and textures, like sliced jicama, corn salsa with pepper dippers and clementines. In addition to stocking your fridge with healthy choices and keeping fresh produce on your counter, EatPakd meals can help you make wholesome choices convenient, appealing, and the natural default option. CONVENIENCE. This one deserves the all caps and bold. The beauty of EatPakd meals is that you can throw them in your tote on travel days or when you’re running errands with the kids with comfort of knowing you have smart and yummy food choices on hand. Don’t need a full meal? Each meal consists of four separate containers, each with a freshness seal, so you can mix and match and take one or two food sections to use for smaller meal and snack times.
Kids meals, customized. Every week, there’s a new menu of meals to choose from or you can build your own meals. Get your kids involved in the ordering process and they’ll be more invested in the arrival of your goodies as well as excited to dine on the meals of their choice.
Perfectly portioned and priced. For a little more than $3.00 a child, one meal provides just the right amount of food for Teddy and Sloane to share. For our busy pre-school mornings and on-the-go city excursion days (where the most convenient meal will be a $20 hotdog), EatPakd meals are the perfect solution to keep both kids fueled on nutritious food. Simply BYOM (bring your own milk)!
Made for kids…of all ages. Sure, EatPakd meals are made with kids in mind, but the variety of entree, side and dessert options appeal to a mature palette, too (take it from me!). These have been a lifesaver for me when a grocery store trip was long overdue or to give me the chance to enjoy eating at the same time with the kids. <3
Where do I sign up, you ask?! Simply go to www.EatPakd.com, enter your zip code to confirm its availability in your area, create a profile and select your first week of meals.
Make sure to enter the promotion code STYLEDUJOUR to enjoy your first week of four meals for free! (This offer works for new customers only and is valid until December 17, 2017).
Will you give EatPakd a try with your family? What are your tips and tricks for serving up healthy food for your little ones?

Emily
