Last month, I celebrated my 33rd birthday. While I really don’t feel any different than last year, it’s interesting how certain signs of aging are popping up (I wonder if two kids under four has anything to do with it?!) I’m not talking about anything major or even noticeable to others probably, but there are those little things you notice on yourself, you know, like a little crease here or a dark spot there. In particular, my facial skin health and the time I spend caring for it has considerably changed in the last couple years. While I think I have my bases covered with a healthy diet (I am a dietitian after all), drinking lots of water and getting in hours of beauty sleep (well this is kind of a pipe dream), I’ve been trying different over-the-counter cleansers, serums and creams to see what benefits my skin the most (read: anti-aging).
Gone are the days I drop into bed at night with my day-old makeup and dried contacts. I’ve even evolved from the make-up remover sheets, which I still love for traveling and to use on the fly, but I’ve found my skin simply looks and feels healthier and more supple with other choices in cleansers and moisturizers. And it’s not just a feeling. Experts say that women who have exposed their skin to a fair amount of skin damage (raise hand) in the first twenty years should use anti-aging products immediately. So I either need to get my hands on a flux capacitor or up my skincare game stat!
Sorry, Doc, I love my sun! (Hey, at least I’m wearing a hat)
You can imagine I was thrilled to discover the skincare brand, Exuviance, with products developed by dermatologists that are clinically proven to reduce lines and wrinkles, increase firmness, smooth texture and even skin tone. Sounds like this brand was made for me! And it is. Their products are safe for all skin types even for those with sensitive skin. While this brand and its parent company, NeoStrata, are fairly new to me, they’ve been around for nearly 30 years, conducting research and developing a bevy of skin-improving products. OK, I can get behind a company with decades of notable experience. The product that caught my attention, and just so happens to be a fan fave, is a cleansing gel, Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel. I’ve been using it twice a day and my skin is so happy right now. Like most products I use for myself (and on my kids), I’m always looking for a multi-purpose product to save me time and precious cabinet space. Why buy and store three products if you can get the job done with just one, right?
Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel does just that. Here’s how: – It’s considered an anti-aging face cleanser. The gel contains Alpha and Polyhydroxy acids to help smooth and improve your skin’s texture. – The foaming cleanser gently removes makeup and oils, but it’s soap-free which means it won’t dry your skin and is gentle for all skin types. – There’s no need to incorporate a whole new beauty regime to reap the benefits of this cleanser. Twice a day (morning and night), simply apply the Purifying Cleansing Gel to wet skin, lather gently and remove with water. And since it gently removes makeup, there no need to use another makeup remover before washing your face.
I love a good lather and this cleanser does not disappoint!
Compared to other leading skincare anti-aging products, the Purifying Cleansing Gel is reasonably priced and should last a good amount of time. I’ve found that a little cleanser goes a long way and you only need about a nickel-size amount per wash.
You don’t have to take it from me either. This Purifying Cleansing Gel and Exuviance products are constantly featured in the fashion and beauty press from InStyle and Elle to Women’s Health and Harper’s Bazaar. #HotOffThePress
